St Martins shortlisted for Housing Partnership of the Year

Our St Martins development has been shortlisted for Housing Partnership of the Year at the Northern Housing Awards!

We collaborated with M&Y Maintenance and Construction, Redwing and the Parish Church Council of Broughton to deliver affordable housing options and an energy-efficient new-build chapel and parish hall in Fulwood, Preston.

The development saw new homes built on unused land around the chapel – 5 houses and 9 apartments for Rent to Buy through Redwing. The new homes offered an affordable step onto the property ladder for local residents in area where house prices are high.

The new energy-efficient chapel includes accessible facilities for the community and the new parish hall is regularly used by groups including a youth group, choir, knitting group, and a range of training courses and is open as a Warm Welcome Space each week.

The new homes, chapel and parish hall were built by M&Y Maintenance and Construction.

As a profit-for-purpose organisation, our vision is to regenerate places and create opportunities for people. By collaborating with the Church, local community, and our subcontractors, we delivered over £588k in social impact initiatives (including local spending, volunteer hours, donations, and school visits) that will benefit generations to come.

The partnership with the Parish gave a focus to the social value outcomes from the development, including volunteering days for Regenda and M&Y staff to help with planting and landscaping for the chapel building, donations to local food banks and spending within the local supply chain.   Throughout the project, we visited local schools to connect with young people and open up careers in the world of construction and regeneration.
