New Ferry Regeneration Project

In March 2022, Wirral Council appointed The Regenda Group as the preferred developer for the New Ferry Regeneration Project. This initiative aims to revitalize the area, introducing new, affordable homes and enhancing public spaces.

Approved Planning and Development

Wirral Council granted planning approval in April 2023 for the first phase, featuring 34 one and two-bedroom apartments. The construction will be carried out by M&Y Maintenance and Construction, offering affordable rent options through Regenda Homes and Rent to Buy through Redwing.

Planning was approved for the second phase in April 2024, bringing an additional 43 homes to the area.

The redevelopment not only addresses housing needs but also focuses on community development. The Regenda Group commits to creating employment, training, and work experience opportunities locally. This includes apprenticeships supported by The Learning Foundry and work placements with partners

Social Impact and Community Engagement

The Regenda Group sponsors a 'Positive Footprints Raising Aspirations' program with a local primary school, fostering educational and career opportunities for young children.

Construction and Design Details

Construction is scheduled to commence in autumn 2023, with an estimated 18-month completion timeline. The properties have been designed by John McCall Architects.

Future Phases and High Streets Funding

Phase 2, with Site A at Woodhead Street and New Chester Road, awaits a planning application in the coming months.

Wirral Council secured £3.2 million in Future High Streets funding, earmarked for high street and highway improvements in New Ferry. This includes traffic calming measures, landscaping, additional CCTV, and a re-provided public car park.
