Planning granted for first phase of New Ferry regeneration

Following the selection of The Regenda Group as the preferred developer on the regeneration of New Ferry, planning approval has been granted for phase 1 of the project.

The redevelopment of New Ferry will bring a more than 70 new properties to the area, as well as new open space and improvements to the high street. In the first phase, 34 one and two apartments will be built on Bebington Road and Boundary Road, with construction expected to begin in autumn 2023.  

Martin Davies, Director of Development for The Regenda Group, said: “After extensive public consultation, I am delighted that Wirral Council have granted planning approval for these properties. This development will bring modern, energy efficient homes to the area, with a range of tenures to suit the needs of local people.”  

The regeneration of New Ferry will transform the area through new homes and community focussed social value, bringing employment, training and work experience opportunities to the local area.

Homes will be built by M&Y Maintenance and Construction, who have been building and maintaining homes for over 40 years. Affordable rent properties will be let through housing association, Regenda Homes, and Rent to Buy homes will be let through Merseyside based property specialist, Redwing.

Training and apprenticeships will be available through The Learning Foundry and Positive Footprints’ award winning Raising Aspirations Programme will open up the world of to primary school children in the area.

Construction is expected to take around 18 months to complete. 

Properties have been designed by John McCall Architects.  A planning application for the properties on the next phase will made over the coming months.
