By the sector for the sector – The Learning Foundry

Staff at a training session

With the amendment to the social housing bill calling to professionalise the sector, fellow housing associations, like us, will be considering the best approach to ensuring all managers are appropriately trained.

The Regenda Group’s training provider, The Learning Foundry, was established to provide skills and training programmes for housing professionals and people within the communities in which we serve to enhance opportunities for everyone.

According to the Regulator of Social Housing, 25,000 managers across the sector will be required to hold an appropriate housing management qualification regulated by Ofqual. This can be equivalent to a Level 4 or 5 Certificate or Diploma in Housing, or a foundation degree from the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH).

The Learning Foundry are ready to support the sector to achieve these expectations, with advice on how to ensure your organisation remains compliant, how to access funding and how they can fulfil your needs without disrupting the service to customers.

Sean Rothwell, Head of People Services at The Regenda Group, said:

“At Regenda we absolutely want to ensure we’re providing the best service to our residents. Completing CIH training has always been at the top of our agenda to ensure our housing staff have the skills they need to deliver for our customers. As well as CIH qualifications, we work in partnership with The Learning Foundry to offer our staff wider training in leadership and management, customer service, ED&I and green skills. By working in partnership with the Learning Foundry, these development opportunities ensure we’re operating to the highest standard and show our staff that we value them, and we’re invested in their career.”
