Transforming Communities Through Music: Regenda Homes and Future Yard announce a new Neighbourhood Partnership

Future Yard and Regenda Homes have launched a landmark Neighbourhood Partnership focussing on transforming communities. The partnership aims to unlock new opportunities for local people and place music at the centre of Birkenhead’s regeneration journey.

The two organisations have been working together to do good things in the community since Future Yard first opened its doors. Initiatives such as the Neighbourhood Ticket Scheme has already helped local residents to enjoy live music for free – all part of a plan to strengthen cultural access and empower communities.

A shared vision for thriving communities

This newly formalised partnership marks a bold next chapter. Regenda Homes will become a key Neighbourhood Partner to Future Yard, supporting a shared ambition of transforming communities and inspiring local people.

The partnership will support Regenda Homes’ Neighbourhood Strategy vision of creating strong, supportive, and inclusive neighbourhoods and communities where people feel safe and connected to thrive and live happy, healthy lives.

Future Yard is a community music venue based in the heart of Birkenhead. It showcases national and international artists, nurtures local talent and provides learning opportunities for the community (including activities for children, young people and families).

The venue is at the heart of the regeneration vision for Birkenhead – a place with music in its DNA. Future Yard is passionate about the power of music and the positive impact a high-quality community music venue can have on people’s lives. Future Yard believes that through utilising the power of music, they can change their town for the better, inspiring local people, creating life-changing opportunities and shaping a new music future.

Creating opportunities through music and learning

Through the partnership, residents will continue to access free tickets to shows and participate in Future Yard’s skills and learning programmes including Sound Check and Mosh Tots.

Regenda Homes will also support the second iteration of Future Yard’s ‘What Does Music Mean to You‘ project, to better understand the barriers faced by residents to accessing music and cultural events, and how to overcome these, as well as understanding how residents feel about their local neighbourhoods.

A partnership rooted in community impact

Stephanie Harrison, Executive Director – Operations and Customer Service at The Regenda Group, said: “We’re proud to be partnering with Future Yard to create meaningful opportunities for our residents and communities in Merseyside and beyond.

“Our latest collaboration reflects a shared belief in the power of community, creativity, and connection. It builds on our commitment to delivering positive outcomes for our residents, working with partners like Future Yard to support our residents and communities with access to opportunities that enrich lives and strengthen neighbourhood pride.”

Christopher Torpey, Director of Audiences at Future Yard, said “As an anchor institution in Birkenhead, Future Yard wants to ensure that people in the community where we are based benefit directly from what we do. Utilising Regenda’s reach across the Wirral, we can encourage more local people to access culture and learning.”
